Teach art to pre-school and elementary school students in your free time. Young Rembrandts is looking for mature, responsible people to join our team of talented people teaching drawing classes. No degree is necessary—just a love for children and art. We provide the curriculum, supplies and location. You provide the creativity, enthusiasm and fun!
Young Rembrandts is a national award-winning after school drawing program. Our innovative step-by-step process teaches children basic drawing techniques. The curriculum encourages children to express their imaginations while improving motor skills, patience, focus, and ability to stay on task.
Young Rembrandts is seeking energetic and enthusiastic candidates who have experience working with children, who have had the responsibility for motivating groups of children and guiding their behavior. College level drawing experience is preferred. Young Rembrandts will train qualified Instructors in the Young Rembrandts methodology and teaching technique, and are provided with all lessons, supplies, and materials.
Young Rembrandts offers classes in public and private schools at the end of the regular school day, as well as in preschools and park districts on Saturdays. As a Young Rembrandts Instructor, you must be available to teach a minimum of 2 one-hour classes in the afternoon each week, with preference on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Instructors are assigned to schools and usually stay with the same school throughout the term.
REQUIRED
Must be available during the after-school hours M-F …. AND/OR….Saturdays
Must have your own driver’s license and transportation
Must have proof of auto insurance
Must have proof of negative TB test results
Must be able to pass an FBI/DOJ background check
Must have cell phone; camera and computer access-including email
PREFERRED
Classroom experience with elementary or pre-school students
College level art/drawing classes
Please note that this is a VERY part-time position, approximately 2-6 hours per week.
